The weekend saw Arreton Arabians attending Murray Bridge Ag show with Malleegrove Mandalla. This was his first show in the harness ring and we are very happy with his performance, we look forward to our future outings in the harness world!

We would like to take the time to thank Jackie Boyd for her hard work in training, and driving him on the weekend. Also to thank judges, stewards, organisers and committee. It was a wonderful show with a good atmosphere, we look forward to attending again next year.

We have a very busy time coming up with shows, and breeding season is upon us! Malleegrove Mandalla is standing at stud this season and will be avail via live cover and AI - (Fresh, frozen and chilled) for more information please contact us at [email protected] or on 0422476920. We use and recommend Halado Park for all our breeding requirements.

Please visit the photo gallery for photos from the weekend. We look forward to seeing you out and about this show season!

Yesterday was Gawler Ag show, the first show of the season! We had a fantastic day with lots of friendly competition and a high level of quality horses. Big thanks to Judge. steward and organisers. Also as usual a big thanks to Sally,Tania, Roger and Judy. We couldn't do it without you guys!

Arreton Majnoun +M and Malleegrove Mandalla +M both flew the flag for the breed and nearly had their noses rubbed away with all the pats from members of the public. We feel that this sort of PR work is as important as their show classes!

Manny has now returned home from his intensive training with Jackie Boyd, we are so thankful for her skill and training with him and could not be happier with his progress! We are very lucky to have such a wonderful trainer available to us in SA. Pom has also been having lessons driving Manny and both are working beautfully together.

We are also very excited to announce that Sue Williams of Trincada Stud has very generously leased us one of her broodmares for this season - Fairview Amira Shaklan we will include a page for her in our gallery section. We are very excited about the planned breeding for this season!

Don't forget that Malleegrove Mandalla is available at stud this season, enquires are welcome and visitors are always enjoyed ( don't forget to bring a carrot :) )

Photos have been updated, so check out the gallery.

Enjoy the sunshine! Jessie. Pom and Caroline

We are thrilled to announce that Malleegrove Mandalla and Arreton Majnoun have both achieved their Merit Status in Halter in the Australian Arabian Roll of Merit. We look forward to being able to announce their next level!

Malleegrove Mandalla +M has also returned from harness breaking with John 'Patto' Patterson in Flemington Victoria. Mandalla was trained in the heart of Flemington, and exposed to every sort of transportation possible! He is now back in SA and continuing his harness training with Jackie Boyd, he really has taken to harness and is very fit! We look forward to our first pub run :)

Arreton Kamseen has also returned home from harness breaking with Patto, and his owners have had their first ride and drive at home. He looks to be an incredibly flashy harness horse, and Patto made the comment that he looks like he would make a good hunter. Funnily enough we look forward to seeing him on the hunt field at some stage!

We hope that everyone is keeping warm and dry and we look forward to seeing everyone at Gawler show! We hope to see plenty of people out this season to support the SAARABS High Point awards. Without the hard work of few, these awards wouldn't be available, and if not supported tehy will not be run in the future.

Check out the galleries for updated photos of Mandalla and Kamseen!

The 'Off' Season!

Considering this is supposed to be a quiet time at Arreton Arabians there is a huge amount going on!

We are thrilled to share that Arreton Kamseen, the first of our Arreton Prefixed horses, is all grown up and has gone for harness breaking. We cannot wait to see him out and about strutting his stuff!

Malleegrove Maya and Kirrong Tuppara have had positive pregnancy scans. Malleegrove Maya has been covered by Karda Mordo Khan, a grey performance stallion owned by Lisa and Colin Brown. Khan is returning to the Endurance circuit after a 6 year break whilst performing stud duties.  Kirrong Tuppara has been covered by Trincada Strike for a repeat of the mating that produced our much loved Arreton Majnoun.

We wish to congratulate Strike and Sue on acheiving their 31st Australian National Championship.

Arreton Majnoun has an upcoming foal show, with SAARABS 'Stars Of The Future' being run once again. This is a fantastic show and we look forward to seeing this season's youngstock.

And again, we wish to thank everyone who has assisted us this breeding and show season. Roger and Judy, without you I would still be wrestling and would not have acheived what we have! Tokala Lodge for your assistance with saddle training, Sally for riding our show pony to success. Katherine and Scotty for everything! Tania for being our 'go to guy' for presentation questions. and mum and Pom for putting up with me!

Stay tuned for more exciting news in the near future!

Jessie, Pom and Caroline.

While this month has been quiet on the show front, it has been very busy!

Malleegrove Mandalla and Arreton Majnoun have both had their first trips to the beach. See their galleries for photos of the enjoying the warm weather and the water!

Kalody Park Delta is off for breaking this week and we are very keen to see her under saddle. We look forward to seeing another Crabbet arabian flying the flag for our breed in the performance arena!

We are currently ( Not so patiently) waiting for 17day scans on two of the broodmares, both very exciting breedings of performance horses.

We hope everyone has managed to keep relatively cool in the heat wave, and our thoughts are with those who have been, and are currently being affected by the ongoing bushfires around Australia.

We look forward to seeing everyone out and about, and please keep an eye on the gallery for updates.

Jessie and John Preece, Caroline Payne.

Merry Christmas from everyone at Arreton Arabians.

We have had a successful and fun filled year, with horses attending a range of clinics and competitions. Ranging from Western trail, to halter clinics,  Pony Club Interschools to SAARABS State Champs and a lot of smaller shows along the way.

We have a whole host of people to thank for their help, support and assistance over this year. We don't want to list everyone as we are sure to forget people. But there is a massive thankyou to Beck Henderson, and Katherine and Scotty Evans. You guys went above and beyond the call of duty for us this year and we are eternally grateful.

Our thanks to everyone else, who has assisted in any way, big or small. Through your help, advice or training we are continuing to move forward and improve. we could not do this without you!

Congrats to everyone we have competed against this year. We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed in the new year!

Merry Christmas from Arreton Arabians

Arreton Arabians would like to extend 'warm' ( Not stinking hot!) Seasons greetings to everyone!

We are on foal watch with Kirrong Tuppara waiting for our last foal of the season, we are so excited about this foal! We have been very lucky with the weather and swagging it under the stars has been a pleasure. Fingers crossed for a healthy little foal!

Arreton Farah is growing like a weed and is attempting to be paddock boss already. We have been spending alot of time rolling our eyes at her and groaning! There is nothing slow about this little filly!

Arreton Kamseen has turned into quite the grown up now he has been weaned, Malleegrove Maya has taken him under her wing and she spends plenty of time wrinkling her nose at Farah's antics!

Bevolin Woodsmoke is proving her good temprement undersaddle and is looking after Jessie while they both come back in 'from the back paddock'

Please drive safe this christmas break and give your horses an extra carrot!

Merry Christmas, Jessie, John and Caroline

Northern Hack and Halter and general update

Posted by Arreton Arabians on December 12, 2011 at 6:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Arreton Kamseen and Malleegrove Maya competed at Northern Hack and Halter, Mt Pleasant 2011.

It was Kamseen's first show as a weanling and other than being quite vocal and fidgety in his first few classes he took it all in his stride.

Kam's placings were ;

Best presented Male Cleveland Bay sporthorse 3rd

Male Cleveland Bay Sport horse under 3years 1st

Junior Derivative Quality Head 3rd

Juniour Derivative Classic trot 3rd

Derivative Colt 3 years and under 1st

Once again there were only positive comments on Kamseen's behaviour!

Arreton Farah is coming on in leaps and bounds with her handling, she is quite the thinker!

There are lots of pics to be updated in the gallery so keep your eye on it for updates.

Cheers, Jessie, John and Caroline
