2015 SAARABS State Championships

Posted by Arreton Arabians on November 11, 2015 at 3:00 AM Comments comments (0)

It was that time of year again and this year saw Malleegrove Mandalla +CH +CH attending with Arreton Malakeh for her first outing. It was also the show ring debut for Pom!

A really lovely atmosphere at this show with lots of laughs and support from all competitors, Sadly numbers were down but quality was high!

Arreton Majnoun wasn't in attendance as he was busy at the breakers having his first ride this weekend.

Arreton Jameelah is now registered with the AHSA, we made the decision to utilise the new "half arabian registery" and Tiffy is the first horse registered with them. We think this is a fabulous way to promote the use of purebred arabians in the breeding of derivatives.

We are waiting patiently for the birth of Malleegrove Mandalla's first foal, Jakassa Serabi has been moved to the care  of Halado Park for foal watch! Watch this space for news :)

We want to thank everyone who assisted in making the SAARABS State champs a success. To committee, organisers, volounteers, Sponsors and judges, and anyone else who helped in any way. These shows would not be successful without your input.

I also would like to thank those who help us with our training and prep of horses at home. We are constantly striving to learn and improve and couldn't do it without you guys. This includes but isn't exclusive to - Sally, Roger and Judy, Daitan Equestrian, Sonia, Margie, Sarita, Halado Park and Jackie. Thank you!

Adventures and a new addition!

Last weekend Malleegrove Mandalla +CH +CH attended his first endurance outing, completing the 40k training ride at the Sandy Creek event, ridden by Tracy Brandon. Manny LOVED it! We look forward to his next outing. He had quite a busy week with a dressage lesson on Tuesday and a Harness session today (Thursday)

Today was also the day that Fairview Amira Shaklan foaled a filly foal by Sadiks Psyche! We have named her Tiffany as a nod to Sir Terry Prachett. We will have photos up shortly so don't forget to follow her adventures! We would like to thank Trincada and Alexandrina Studs for this amazing opportunity! And thankyou to Halado Park for foaling down, we are so glad she chose a civilised time to foal ( and let you finish your cuppa )

Kalody Park Delta is also going well under saddle at the breakers and we should have some photos up next week.

A huge day today and we are puffed out! until nex time, Jessie, John and Caroline

The waiting game has started! Fairview Amira Shaklan has bagged up and is up at Halado Park in the foaling paddock under close watch. Stay tuned for the next update on that! Amira is in foal to Sadiks Psyche.

Over the weekend we attended the SAARABS Highpoint awards night. We would firstly like to thank the committee for their efforts in organising and collating all the results, and to the sponsors for their support of the program. A HUGE congratulations to all competitors this season, regardless of if they had entered the awards program. We hope to see it getting more support next season, it is a great way to celebrate the end of the season.

Our results were

Arreton Majnoun +CH - Junior Derivative Colt

Malleegrove Mandalla +CH +CH  - Overall Senior Purebred Halter Horse

-Overall Ridden Purebred

- Overall Performance Horse ( Purebred and Derivative Combined)

There was a fantastic group of people to spend the season with and we had a wonderful catch up after the awards ceremony!

As always I want to thank the people who helped us acheive these results. This was a massive effort with Manny achieving over 120 performance points. We would like to thank Sally, Sam, Jackie, Halado Park, Sonia, Daitan Equestrian, Roger and Judy. For all their help in and out of the show ring.

Manny will be standing at stud again this season and enquiries are welcomed.

Cheers! Jessie, John and Caroline

What a season! Malleegrove Mandalla and Arreton Majnoun both celebrated the end of the season by achieving their Champion awards in Halter with the AHSA Roll of Merit. Malleegrove Mandalla topped it off beautifully by also achieving it in performance. We are incredibly proud of both of their achievements this season.

Both the boys are now having a much deserved break before Arreton Majnoun +Ch  begins being backed and Malleegrove Mandalla +CH +CH begins preparing for the next show season.

We cannot thank enough the people who have helped us achieve this, including Roger and Judy, Sally, Sam, Daitan Equestrian, Halado Park, Sonia and Jackie. We look forward to our next adventures.

Arreton Majnoun +M and Malleegrove Mandalla +M both attended the Australian Arabian Championships this week and did us proud.

Mandalla competed in a broad range of classes showing his versatility, including costume, side saddle, harness, led and ridden classes. bringing home awards for 2x costume, harness, led, ( non pro- international judge) ridden (non pro) and dressage events. Showing exactly how well the purebred arabian can do a wide range of events.

Arreton Majnoun +M absoloutely exploded into the ring and was shown to perfection by Roger Vuga. we were blown away!

A massive thanks to a big list of people Sally, Sam, Jackie, Judy, roger, Sonia, Daitan Equestrian. Halado Park, Michelle, Casey and anyone else who helped our team in any way. We also want to thank the committee, stewards, judges, volounteers and sponsors without you guys the event wouldnt happen. It was a fantastic show with a friendly welcoming atmosphere. It was an absoloute pleasure to be a competitor at your event.

Plenty of smiles and laughs despite the poor weather! It was fabulous to see some new faces in the ring and we look forward to seeing them out again. Thankyou to all committee, judges, sponsors and volounteers for ensuring the show ran well, it was great to have a new show on the calender.

Malleegrove Mandalla +M and Arreton Majnoun +M both had a great day, Manny improving again on his previous efforts. Thankyou to Sally and Sam for riding him in his classes. We look forward to seeing everyone at state champs!

Unfortunately there is some sad news this week, we were deeply saddened  to hear of the passing of Rivington Nina. Nina pony gave Pom his first driving experiences and gave him to confidence and enthusiasm to continue. She was a true all round performance pony and will be missed by many. We wish to express our deepest condolences to the family.

Firstly, thankyou to all the hardworking committee, judges and helpers. It was another wonderful day with a fantastic atmosphere, sadly numbers were very low. But the competition was of a good quality!

Malleegrove Mandalla +M had his first side saddle class and while he needed a little more time between classes to switch his brain from astride to aside he did very well! A massive thanks to Sam Taylor for sharing her experinece and training with our boy. Sally Gouldhurst rode Mandalla astride and they also had a fantastic day! A saddle fitting by Sheryl James has made a very happy little stallion who is enjoying his work again.

We look forward to next weekend when we attend the Riding Pony Spring show at Mount Pleasant, our last show before state champs! As always, if you see us out please do come over and say hello.

Photos from the weekend are up in Manny's photo album, so go and have a peek at our versitile boy strutting his stuff!

We hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather, it's nearly time to hit the beach.

APSB All Breeds Show 2014

Posted by Arreton Arabians on October 10, 2014 at 12:25 AM Comments comments (0)

Another weekend, another show!

Both the Boys - Arreton Majnoun +M and Malleegrove Mandalla +M -were very well behaved in close confines with some rather frisky fillies this weekend.

It was a very successful show with lots of laughs and good company. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces in the ring. We don't usually brag about placings. but for 25 years Jessie has been competing and had yet to win a rosette... until the weekend when she and the boys were awarded one each and Manny and Sally acheived another under saddle. It was raining rosettes!

As usual the photo gallery will be updated with photos from the weekend, We hope you will take the time to have a look.

Breeding wise, all systems are go. Fairview Amira Shaklan, on loan from Trincada Stud, has had a 16 day postiive scan. fingers crossed it's a filly! Malleegrove Maya has been inseminated after sadly slipping last seasons foal. She is in the capable hands of the Halado Park breeding team this season and hopefully we will have more success with her this season. Malleegrove Mandalla+M is getting geared up for his first lady of the season - our wonderful Jakassa Serabi (Mirakh Hajjal x Temula) we are just waiting on the construction of the dummy mare so we are able to start collections.

We have a very busy few months ahead of us and hope that you will check back in to keep updated. You never know what we will get up to next!

Thanks as usual to Sally, Sonia, Roger, Judy, Tania and everyone else who helps along the way.

Cheers, and enjoy this glorious weather! Jessie, John and Caroline.
